Cotati Mayor Holding Community Chat Monday

Set to discuss city budget, planned projects and how to boost local businesses

Cotati Mayor Mark Landman is inviting residents to an evening chat at the Redwood Café on Monday, April 22, starting 7pm.

Among the topics to be discussed:

  • The proposed changes to the so-called fast-food franchise formula, the cap on national retailers, the city’s economy and future of business in Cotati,
  • Truck traffic downtown and impacts on businesses and infrastructure,
  • Upcoming city projects and events planned for summer.

Landman, a retired fire captain who became mayor this year, says he wants to give residents who typically can’t make it to a council meeting, a chance to voice their concerns and hear about what’s happening in town in a more relaxed setting.

Before Landman became mayor, he served on the Water Advisory Committee from 2009 to 2013, as a liaison to the Chamber of Commerce, as a Association of Bay Area Governments (ABAG) representative and ABAG Regional Planning Committee member.

He’s also on the board of directors of the Sonoma County Transportation Authority and a Director of the Sonoma County Regional Climate Protection Authority.

The meeting will take place from 7-9pm at Redwood Café, 8240 Old Redwood Highway in Cotati.

Will you be making it over to talk to the mayor? What questions will you ask? What topics should the city council be focusing more on?
