Raise money for scholaships, uniforms, and equipment? Why is this even on this article. This isRead More serious and could have been worse. I send out prayers for boy and family for speedy recovery and good health. Let's focus on what happened. If there is a casino night fundraiser maybe have another separate article. Geesh. And yes please implement better protective gear these are young boys and girls our there.

This article means a lot to me. I am glad the boy is alright and that the right people were there. IRead More am 16 now but when I was 7 I broke my arm on the playground at a school in Lafayette and was driven to the same exact hospital. I just thought this was ironic. I remember that night vividly because the nurse woke me up at 2 then I got a really delicious breakfast that next morning. Glad you pulled through buddy!

All great memeories by everyone thus far. My family is in it's 64th consecutive year aa a seasonRead More tix holder and we were fortunate to have attended three. In New Orleans in 1990 the restaurants were so crowded, you had to share tables and we were lucky to sit with Denver fans the day before for lunch and dinner. All they could say was how everybody in Denver knew they were going to lose and that they were just happy to be there. Final score: 55-10.

Yea, I think the Patch is beginning to be desperate for traffic with a headline like this with theRead More big SF logo and all. Sorry I included myself in the " hits" traffic. Time to go and read the real sport sections and all. I do enjoy Carlos from Patch though, maybe he could be polished into a regular sports columist w/out all the off subject hatin.

PJM, this is a free enterprise system and as far as I know, no US laws have been broken. The realRead More issue here is as I and now others have mentioned, want the youth of our country following the lead of these players who have chosen to play outside the lines of the game. I only use the NFL seemed like and I still think it is as did MLB in the recent HOF voting results begin setting the bar for future players. I do not care if one has more legal liability than the other. One good example might be the labeling of cigarette packaging with the warning health labels..... now do you see, it really doesn't matter how it happens, just as the Surgeon General's warning is to try to prevent smoking and inherent damage that may occur, but it also in a sense allows the tobacco companies some if very limited liability from Suites of the legal variety. It's all good in my book, but not the use of Steroids in MLB!

When I see Major League Baseball, the NFL, the AFL, the NBA, the NHL and the NCAA publish andRead More enforce a real drug policy, I will believe someone has become serious about this issue. In the meantime I see a lot of posturing and worthless statements but little to no action. If we want to see our kids idolize people who use and condone the use of drugs, that is what we have now. It’s a sad commentary on what we have grown to accept.

I couldn't be more proud of the hard work by Resurrection. To skate against teams like San DiegoRead More (almost won too!) and Port, that's not just "turning in an application." For the majority of the game against SD, Res was winning and I could have easily seen Resurrection skating against Oly, an outstanding team...there is no doubt that Resurrection has skills in both rule sets and would smoke a lot of the competition out there. 2013 will be an AMAZING year for Resurrection Roller Girls. Come to the games to see it with your own eyes.

People who do that sort of nonsense are not fans. They are just drunks and vandals they should haveRead More made more arrests.
edzel October 29, 2012 at 07:26 pm
I love SF and have lived there and I hate seeing this type of "celebration" amongRead More incompetents; vandals, drunks, and other troublemakers. At the Giants ballpark, there is security all around. Apparently, the mayor and SFPD didn't learn how to handle these types of riots after the Giants won their 1st WS for SF. Does it take the National Guard and martial law for such of those arrested to be tried and have a felony mark on their record? It may take a special law to be passed by the SF Board of Supes to put a handle on such troublemakers. Freedom is not free if we practice it "recklessly in celebration."
Anna Gomez November 8, 2012 at 04:26 am
They should add up the damages and make the 35 losers that were arrested pay for it. Set aRead More precedence for the next round of drunken idiots that feel the need to trash the city.
