Nothing new there Black panther o Poetry the human race has been delving the depth of depravity forRead More eons. There are a lot of good people in our world, but unfortunately evil is hyper active

It says Around Town but the headline is UTAH. Utah is not near Natick!! I think everyone should notRead More open an article on Patch unless they see their town's name in the headline. So If it doesn't say Natick, then we all know it is not LOCAL to the Natick Patch. The less clicks these Patch sites get, the fewer advertisers they will get and then perhaps they will realize if we want sensational news from across the country we'd go back to Patch's former owners AOL and the HuffPost! Those here from other Patch sites - I think you should do the same only click on articles that mention your community's name. No name. No click!

It cleared up nicely for the eclipse, as viewed from the upper deck of Berkeley Yacht Club. TheRead More theme of this year's eclipse class was 15th Century Chinese Survey Techniques. By observing the same eclipse at widely separated locations, and then measuring the time difference to meridian transit of a known star or planet (using a water clock), ancient map-makers could establish longitude with surprising accuracy. Last night us amateurs came within 23 seconds of getting the time of the start of totality correct (after averaging all the guesses), which is only a 4.5 mile error in longitude. We'll do this again in October.

How about posting the story 3-4 days BEFORE the voting ends???!!!
Susan C. Schena March 27, 2014 at 07:46 am
I agree that would have been better. I only learned of it the minute I posted it, though. And IRead More scrambled to get it online as fast as I could.

This is scary.. and so sad. Some people I've talked to, are afraid to get sick from the flu shot. IRead More went to Costco to get my flu shot about a week ago. My neighbor didn't get one, and she was very sick for ten days and even had laryngitis. She didn't believe in getting a shot. I read very carefully, the contraindications of the flu shot, and it says that the side effects are minimal. I can't speak for all, but I sure didn't want to get that H1N1 virus. The flu shot takes care of that one, they told me, and other strains but not all strains. I don't think one has to be a member to get this shot. They charged me $14.99 for it. For those afraid of needles, know that it didn't hurt one bit. Please go get your shot no matter what your age. Be well, be safe.

How many similar deaths are reported per month in Sonoma County??
Linda M Long January 11, 2014 at 05:38 pm
Please tell your young relatives and friends to get their flu shots. They are apparentlyRead More particularly vulnerable to this flu. I had to use my MOM SAID! voice to our oldest and it worked! We have sons and my heart aches for the family of young Matthew 'Matty'. Of course most all should get their flu shot. In 1918-1919 500,000 Americans died from complications due to the flu (20 million worldwide).

This reminds me of how my son raises his daughter. She was allowed to use a sharp knife to cut herRead More own apple at 5, and she ended up cutting her finger. She only needed a few stitches, but it made her wiser about the capacity of knives. It was however, a very expensive trip to emergency. I think these things involve parental judgement about kid's readiness for certain activities. Falling from stairs on a playgound slide might bang her up a bit, but getting banged up is part of life. We really can't protect our children from getting hurt, lost, or even kidnapped. I had 3 situations in my young childhood where I could have been raped. There was no one around to help me. I used my street smarts to thwart these attempts, which I wouldn't have had if there had been a mommy or daddy watching over me. Some kids aren't given the opportunity to test their own limits. Protection comes in the form of education, rather than hovering. And, even then, the choices are theirs. The main responsibility of a parent or guardian is education and teaching awareness, according to the child's ability to understand. Maybe you could get some T-shirts made that say: "PLEASE DON'T HELP ME!"
