The 19th Annual Cotati Kids Day Parade and Festival is today, and as usual it's an eye-pleasing, witty and fun collection of inspired kids of all ages. So here are some pictures of the event from our Patch snapshooters.
Add your digital photos of the event to this gallery. Just be sure you're logged in, and you should find an "Add Photo" link in the gallery.
The parade officially began at 10 a.m., after a pancake breakfast starting at 7 a.m. The theme this year is “Bedtime Stories,” so participants were encouraged to come to the parade or even the park dressed as favorite character (or in your best pajamas.) Think classic fairy tales and stories of adventure.

The route is the same as last year, from the Ray Miller Community Center on School Street, up Sierra to Henry, over to Old Redwood Highway, then down to La Plaza Park.
At noon at the park, awards will be given out to parade category winners, and the 10-year old winner of the Poster Contest. Then there’s kid-friendly food, music, games, activity booths, a diaper derby (for crawlers) and more.

Several stage acts are promised between noon and 3 p.m. that should be entertaining for “kids of all ages,” which Suzanne Whipple of the sponsoring Cotati Chamber of Commerce insisted was the target demographic.
