I think that every teacher in Rohnert Park is amazing!!! They are all my friends and I feel this is going to create a negative feeling between us! I teach in this district and I wouldn't want any of my friends to feel bad because of this contest!!! We all put in many hours and love all of our students. I wouldn't want to have to vote on my favorite student, how would that make the rest of them feel!?!? Instead maybe parents should let their favorite teacher know by a kind gesture on the first day of school! Just my thoughts! Jennifer Dorn

Jennifer, The Readers' Choice is not meant to cause divisions, but just as a way for people to pick a favorite in the various 25 categories. I can't imagine any of the wonderful teachers I have met in this district being upset because one of their friends was nominated over them.

Fabulous idea Jennifer. I agree, we are all as good as we are because of the team of teachers we work SO hard with to make this district fabulous. We put in endless hours, effort, money, and are all so passionate about what we do. Why not honor great schools, each of them during a different months?

All in CRPUSD!

Yes, excellent idea Jennifer. All CRPUSD teachers are amazing and incredible. I would nominate every one of them. I try to let them know how appreciated they are every time I see them. Thank you to all of our fabulous teachers.

There can only be one amazing teacher, and they will be defined by the winning of this contest.

Nick-maybe you could send me the link you were talking about on Facebook with the 25 categories...I can't seem to find it except this one.
Jennifer D. June 28, 2012 at 10:45 PM
I found it...not 25 categories for different qualities in a teacher but 25 different business types to vote on. I still don't feel like teacher even fits in that poll but I didn't design the poll. I know I'm a well liked teacher but that doesn't mean that I'm an amazing teacher. Some of the most effective teachers I know aren't very personable! Good luck with your poll.

Mr Timothy Decker at Rancho! He is a wonderful teacher and his students love him! He spends many nights and weekends directing the band and choir at competions and performances, and is at school for zero period every day! He is a teacher that gives of himself every day and makes a difference in his students lives.

Christine Minhondo-Larry Jones Middle School Special Ed teacher. Christine is the most dedicated teacher I've seen in the 20+ years I've been taking my kids to school! Christine never leaves her classroom before 6pm each evening, planning and preparing. She has produced phenominal results in kids that people had thought were not possible! There is not another special ed class with a curriculum and tracking of skills like hers. She has taken groups of her disabled kids and their families into SF, using public transportation, to see and experience things such as the Nutcracker and the broadway show the Lion King. Wheelchairs and all! It is a huge feat! She has provided the kids and families the love and support that has been unparalelled elsewhere. She is so deserving of this award!!

I have to vote for Christine Minhondo though she is a scoe Teacher but the best that Rohnert Park has to offer.... I have had children in school in Rohnert Park for the past 18 years and continue to have an 8 year old that attends MonteVista and I will have to say this Christine Minhondo is by far the best Teacher at the middle school level... Jennifer Dorn, sorry honey many teachers in Cotati Rohnert Park need to be let go... Like I said my children have been attending schools in Rohnert Park for the past 18 years and many need to retire or be fired. To many Frazzled teachers in the district.

Mr. Timothy Decker - Rancho Cotate High School Dr. Joseph Immel - Technology High School Very hard to choose one, so I am choosing one from each of my children's high Schools. Both these teachers have made a significant impact on my children along with many many others from our great school district.
