Electric Vehicle Charging Station Installation Starts This Week

Electric vehicle charging station at City Center Plaza parking lot - installation starts this Thursday

An electric vehicle charging station will be installed at the City Center Plaza parking lot this Thursday, November 15th and should take about 2-3 weeks to complete.  The electric vehicle charging station was fully funded through the ChargePoint America Energy Grant Program.  The grant funding includes:

  • Purchase cost fully paid
  • All installation costs
  • Two-year warranty on parts
  • Coulomb’s ChargePoint Network Subscription
  • Access to website and coulomb EV chargeing network
  • Collect and manage user fees (administrative costs)

One of the main reasons that we are installing the charging station is due to new state legislature (AB 1493) which mandates 1.4 million zero emission vehicles to be on the road by 2025.  The City Council approved the installation of the electric vehicle charging station as well as a user fee to recover electric usage and operating costs.

The writer acknowledges no "cost" to the local community for its globalized retailing.Read More Walmart produces some jobs, and undercuts jobs at other local employers who can't compete with those low prices. THINK globally, but ACT locally! Purchase from those who keep more dollars in our community! That ain't Walmart!
