Zane Named to National Social Security-Medicare Foundation

Non-profit organization devoted to "ensure the financial security, health, and well being of current and future generations of Americans"

Sonoma County Third District Supervisor Shirlee Zane was elected today to a position on the Board of Directors for the National Committee to Preserve Social Security and Medicare Foundation (NCF).

The NCF is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization whose mission is to protect, promote, and ensure the financial security, health, and well being of current and future generations of Americans through research, analysis, and public education.

Upon learning of her election, Supervisor Zane commented, “I am absolutely honored to have been elected to the NCF Board because of our shared goals to improve public understanding of the positive value of Social Security and Medicare...

"Anyone who has worked with me over the years knows that my passion in public service is focused on ensuring the vulnerable have vital services.”

Zane's district in the heart of Sonoma County primarily includes Santa Rosa and Rohnert Park.

At the core of the National Committee Foundation is advancing and advocating for national public policy and civic engagement to embrace the long-term vision that social insurance is vital to the health and economic security of all generations.

The NCF is based in Washington, DC and affiliated with the National Committee to Preserve Social Security and Medicare founded in 1982.
