You Could Be Selected To Go to Japan

Are you in high school, a resident of Rohnert Park, and interested in traveling to Japan this summer? If so, the Sister Cities Committee of Rohnert Park invites you to apply to be Rohnert Park’s Student Goodwill Ambassador to Japan. The teen who is selected will be sponsored (including airfare) on a ten-day trip to Hashimoto, Japan, during the summer of 2013. Applications may be picked up at City Hall, the Community Center, or the Rohnert Park public library, and are due February 22. Interviews will follow.

Ambassadors stay with a host family and participate in a variety of activities. They visit ancient temples, museums, and government buildings (including a meeting with the mayor of Hashimoto). They represent our city as they fulfill the mission of Sister Cities International: “to promote peace through mutual respect, understanding, and cooperation – one individual, one community at a time.”
