Tuesday City Council Meeting Preview

The City Council Tuesday is expected to ratify agreements between Rohnert Park public employee unions, including the Rohnert Park Public Safety Officer's Association. Stay tuned for in-depth coverage of what changes have taken place with unions and negotiations — and how that impacts you as a resident.
The council will also decide whether or not to give two payments o $2,500 to the Rohnert Park 50th Anniversary celebration. One of those payments is to fund the band Wonderbread 5.
"Originally, the City received a request from the Committee for a financial contribution in the amount of $24,000," officials said in a report. "However, the Committee recognizes the City’s current financial situation and has modified its request to $2,500."

The money would come out of the general fund. The celebration is scheduled for Sept. 15, 2012.
The council will also decide whether or not to host a Sept. 11 commemoration on the 10-year anniversary at City Center Plaza.
