Secretary of State Candidates to Appear at BBQ in Sonoma County

Annual fundraiser to support local candidates in 2014 election

(Santa Rosa, CA) State Senators Alex Padilla and Leland Yee, 2014 candidates for California Secretary of State, will be the special guests at the 7th Annual Sonoma County Democratic Party Barbecue on Sunday, September 22, from noon to 3 p.m., at the Howarth Park gazebo in Santa Rosa. Other local elected officials expected to attend include Rep. Mike Thompson, State Assembly members Marc Levine and Mariko Yamada, Sonoma County District Attorney Jill Ravitch, and Sonoma County Supervisors Susan Gorin and Mike McGuire. Democratic candidates running for state and local offices in 2014 will also be on hand to help Democrats kick off the campaign season.

“We are excited to be hosting so many elected officials and candidates this weekend,” said Stephen Gale, Chair of the Sonoma County Democratic Party. “This is a great opportunity for voters to meet the candidates for Secretary of State and to get to know their local representatives.”

Funds raised from the event will be used to support the SCDP’s 2014 campaign headquarters, endorsed Democratic candidates, and issues important to the Democratic Party. Ticket price includes a barbecue lunch and live music.
