We are contacting all of the candidates that won seats last night and will be posting their reactions to winning along with any comments they want to make to the public. The article will be updated as we hear back from each of the winners.

What is your reaction to winning?

I feel very satisfied that Sue Harvey, Wendy Skillman and myself won by a wide margin showing that the majority of citizens in Cotati felt most comfortable with us setting policy for the City.

Who would you like to thank?

I personally want to thank everyone who supported my campaign by either voting for me, placing a yard sign in their yard, taking the time to talk to me as I went to nearly every door in the City and even waived signs on Election Day and eve while I was at work. Also I would like to thank the various groups and organizations who endorsed my campaign because as a voter, I look at those lists and it tells me a lot about a candidate's character by who supports them.

Any message for the voters?

I have said all along that I would work hard for the citizens as I did not only for the past 18 months since I was appointed to the City Council, but as I did in my previous Council term from 1994 - 1998. That is a promise I will not go back on. I hope to keep us away from the fiscal cliff and continue to move the City forward with new ideas and different ways of strategically going into the future.

Jennifer Wiltermood - Cotati-Rohnert Park Unified School Board

What is your reaction to winning?

Excitement! I'm ready to rock and roll! I really can't wait to sit down and start seeing which ideas I have are feasible and then get started with things like creating partnerships with local businesses to work on reading programs.

Who would you like to thank?

My family really stepped up and did a lot of walking for me and so did my friends. I would really like to thank then because there is a lot of ground to cover in Rohnert Park and Cotati.

Did you stay up for the results?

No, I was wiped out (laughing)! I woke up early this morning and had gotten text messages all night from people and then on Facebook my cousin had posted the election results so that is how I found out I won.

Any message for the voters?

Thank you for voting for me and I can't wait to get my feet wet and get going. I always welcome any phone call on issues and in fact we included my number on my voter pamphlet. A lot of people called to talk about issues and ask questions, which I think is great. Communication is a critical issue.

Wendy Skillman - Cotati City Council

What is your reaction to winning?

I was very happy that all the hard work people put in paid off and now I am ready to move on to the next adventure of working with the City Council.

Who would you like to thank?

I would like to thank all of the people who helped and supported me along with those who voiced their opinions that helped me along the way. I want to thank my friends and family along with the people who came out to support me at the polls.

Did you stay up for the results?

No I was in bed early because I had to be up early to get my son off to school. A friend called me and woke me up at midnight with the good news.

Any message for the voters?

I would like to say that I am ready to work hard for Cotati and help keep things moving in a positive direction. I appreciate the trust they have placed in me and hope to live up to their expectations.

Susan Harvey - Cotati City Council

What is your reaction to winning?

I am excited! I really appreciate that the citizens of Cotati are letting me work 4 more years and am also excited that John and Wendy won. I think we will have a great City Council, but I am sad that Janet won't be there.

Who would you like to thank?

I would like to thank the citizens of Cotati for believing in me and giving me another term. Also I would like to thank family and friends who gave me a lot of support.

Did you stay up for the results?

I stayed up until about 12:20 a.m. but we knew there was a slight issue with a precinct and reporting. Then later I woke up in the middle of the night and decided to check.

Any message for the voters?

I look forward to hearing their input and hope that they will stay in touch by calling or emailing to let me know what they are thinking about. It was very enjoyable to walk neighborhoods and talk with people to really understand what is important to them.
