Dueling Agenda Conflicts Rohnert Park Citizens on Tuesday

County to ask for comment on Casino while City Council will talk budget and other matters

While the has back-to-back meetings scheduled this Tuesday, at 4 p.m. and again at 6, the Sonoma County Board of Supervisors has scheduled a special meeting for the same day to take public comment on the single most impactful issue facing the city, the .

The Board of Supervisors meeting, to begin at 6 p.m. in the Board chambers at 575 Administration Dr., Santa Rosa, is to allow the public to comment on the casino project in advance of the Board's negotiations with the Federated Indians of Graton Rancheria, expected to come following the Department of the Interior approval of a state-tribal agreement, due on or before July 6.

"The county-tribe talks will set the terms for how much money the county is to get over the next 20 years from the Graton Rancheria to address a range of local impacts," reported the Press Democrat. "Other measures, such as design and well-monitoring programs, also may be on the table."

In Rohnert Park, the first of two City Council meetings on Tuesday will be a special session to focus on a review of the five-year capital improvement budget plan for the City. Public comment is expected to take up a considerable amount of the meeting time. The agenda is .
