Details on 12-day Closure of Commerce Blvd. Due at Council Meeting

City Council is also poised to approve the Camino Colegio Bike Lanes and hear another proposal on waiving rental fees

The Sonoma County Transportation Agency Tuesday is expected to announce details for the 12-day closure of Commerce Boulevard resulting from work on Highway 101. Stay tuned to Rohnert Park Patch for details.

The city this week is also poised to adopt a new plan that would install a class two bike lane on Camino Colegio in between Southwest Boulevard and East Cotati Avenue. The issue sparked heated debate last month after a band of area residents protested loss of parking in their neighborhood. Residents also said they were , crossing the street at night or during heavy traffic. Stay tuned for updates.

The council will also give direction on whether or not to move forward with a policy that would waive fees for nonprofits, businesses or service organizations to hold activities on city property or facilities; and to waive rental fees for other things like equipment.

The city is still in closed session labor negotiations with the Rohnert Park Public Safety Officer's Association on contract concessions, which includes a . City Manager Gabe Gonzalez said late last week that nothing new has developed in the proposal yet.
