Cotati Police Hire 2 New Reserve Officers, 2 Interns

Reserves are grads of SRJC police academy; interns from SSU.


Two reserve police officers have been hired by the Cotati Police Department, and two new student interns have also come on board to the force, officials said this week.

Forest Neel-Grant and Paul Goodin have been hired to serve the Cotati community as Reserve Police Officers, Cotati Police Chief Michael Parish said.

"Both Neel-Grant and Goodin are in the field training program," Parish said. "Upon successful completion of the program, will take on patrol and other law enforcement duties."

Neel-Grant and Goodin are graduates from the Santa Rosa Junior College Police Academy, which is certified by the California Peace Officers Standards and Training (P.O.S.T.).

Joining the force as student interns from Sonoma State University
Criminal Justice Program are Tyler Wardle and Jessica Rada, Parish said.

He said the department has a longstanding partnership with the SSU program.

With the addition of the twp reserve officers, the total staffing level of the Cotati Police Department stands at 20.

"Both the Reserve Police Officer and Police Internship Programs provide valuable service for the Cotati community and a learning environment for future law enforcement professionals," Parish said.
