Agenda for This Week's City Meetings

Labor contracts, litigation, mobile home rents topics for negotiation and report.

Two public meetings this week of City boards are scheduled, both in the City Council Chamber at City Hall.

The City of Rohnert Park has released an agenda for a special session Wednesday afternoon at 4 p.m. of a joint meeting of the City Council and the Rohnert Park Financing Authority.

The meeting will take place largely behind closed doors, however, in closed session to consider labor contracts for FY2013-2014, which begins July 1, according to City Clerk JoAnne Buergler.

Contract negotiations will take place between the City and the following: Service Employees' International Union (SEIU) Local 1021; Rohnert Park Employees' Association (RPEA); Rohnert Park Public Safety Officers' Association (RPPSOA); Rohnert Park Public Safety Managers’ Association (RPPSMA); and unrepresented management and confidential employees.

Such negotiations are common in the first part of the calendar year, leading up to the new fiscal year budget, and usually extend over several closed sessions.

There are also two cases of anticipated litigation with "significant exposure" that require conference with legal counsel.

The meeting will begin at 4 p.m., in City Council chambers. Prior to adjournment to closed session there will be, as usual, a period for public comment for matters not listed on the agenda.

The Mayor's Report on the closed session is scheduled following the closed session, but if matters have not been resolved there will be no public statement.

The regularly scheduled City Council /RPFA/ Successor Agency Joint Regular Meeting will take place next Tuesday, March 12, at 5:00 p.m. An agenda is not yet available.

Another City meeting takes place on Thursday, March 7 at 7 p.m. in Council Chambers, of the Mobile Home Parks Rent Appeals Board. A staff report on the Mobile Home Ordinance 494, and the RP Rent Appeals Board rules and regulations, is on the agenda.

You can find agenda links and schedule of upcoming City meetings on this page of the City of Rohnert Park website.

The Festa Italiana was last weekend. It was OK, most food booths were ripoffs. Not enough tables orRead More food choices. Hardly any cars at the car show. I really hope they do better next year. I could be a great event with more planning.
