A Santa Rosa woman was arrested Thursday night on suspicion of stabbing her estranged husband several times at his Larkfield home, a Sonoma County sheriff's sergeant said.

Jeannette LaFerriere, 32, of Santa Rosa, was arrested around 7:30 p.m. for attempted homicide, assault with a deadly weapon, false imprisonment and attempted arson. She will be arraigned in Sonoma County Superior Court Monday afternoon.

Neighbors in the 5000 block of Carriage Lane called sheriff's deputies about a family disturbance that possibly involved someone with a knife, Sgt. John Molinari said.

Several people were in the front yard of the residence trying to detain LaFerriere who allegedly stabbed her estranged husband several times, Molinari said.

The victim and his mother, who also was hurt during the physical altercation, were taken to a hospital for treatment and are expected to recover from their injuries, Molinari said.

Detectives learned LaFerriere drove to her estranged husband's house and confronted him in the garage with a flammable material and threatened to burn down his residence, Molinari said.

LaFerriere and her estranged husband were inside the residence when the victim's mother came home and saw LaFerriere with a knife in her hand, Molinari said.

The ensuing altercation inside the residence continued outside where neighbors aided the victim and called police, Molinari said.

The Festa Italiana was last weekend. It was OK, most food booths were ripoffs. Not enough tables orRead More food choices. Hardly any cars at the car show. I really hope they do better next year. I could be a great event with more planning.
