Stolen Tools, Electrical Wire Found in Motel Room of Rohnert Park Man

Police arrested a wanted Rohnert Park man on suspicion of possession of stolen property as well as on two outstanding arrest warrants.

A Rohnert Park man went to jail on Saturday after police discovered several items from his motel room that were allegedly stolen.

Sonoma County Sheriff's deputies arrested Joel Thomas Theiss, 30, of Rohnert Park, on suspicion of possession of stolen property and for violating the terms of his probation.

Deputies went to Theiss' hotel room at Budget Inn on Saturday and to serve two outstanding arrest warrants for violation of probation that were from a previous paraphernalia conviction and a theft / drug possession arrest where he did not show up for his scheduled court appearance, according to a Sheriff's Department press release.

Sonoma County Sheriff's detectives located what was described as "a trove of stolen tools and electrical wire" within Theiss' hotel room.

"Detectives later searched Theiss' storage unit and additional stolen tools and wire were located," the press release stated. "It appears from our investigation that a majority of the tools and wire were stolen from work trucks. Some of the stolen property had the true owners name written on the tools and several victims have been notified and have claimed their property. However, there is still a majority of suspected stolen tools and wire that have not been claimed.

The Sheriff's Department urges possible victims of thefts in which tools were taken or wire was stolen to contact Detective Ryan Russell at (707) 565-2517.

The writer acknowledges no "cost" to the local community for its globalized retailing.Read More Walmart produces some jobs, and undercuts jobs at other local employers who can't compete with those low prices. THINK globally, but ACT locally! Purchase from those who keep more dollars in our community! That ain't Walmart!
