Roommate Ends Argument With Machete to the Face

An argument between two Rohnert Park roommates ended with one man striking the other with a machete, causing him severe injuries.

A Rohnert Park man is being held on a $1 million bail amount after he allegedly struck his roommate in his face and legs with a machete.

Police say that 21-year-old Kyle Sorensen and his roommate got into an argument at their home on the 900 block of Civic Center Drive at 3:44 a.m. During the argument, Sorensen allegedly grabbed a machete and struck his roommate, a 22-year-old man, in his face and legs.

Police were summoned to the home and found the man lying on his couch suffering from a severe laceration to the left side of his face and several severe lacerations on his leg. The man was transported to a local hospital for treatment, police said, but his condition was not known as of the time of this posting.

The officers arrested Sorensen on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon and mayhem and transported him to the Sonoma County jail, where he is being held on a $1 million bail amount.
