Rohnert Park Man Leads Police on Chase, Fights Them Inside Clothing Store

Charged with battery on police officer, driving on a suspended license and being in possession of stolen property

A Rohnert Park man was arrested Sunday after leading California Highway Patrol on a chase that ended in a fight inside a Forever 21 store in the Santa Rosa Plaza.

Around 1:30pm Sunday, a CHP officer noticed a stolen Chevrolet Aveo stopped in traffic and followed the car as the driver got on Highway 101. Officers signaled for the car to pull over, but the driver, later identified as 32-year-old Rohnert Park resident Kevin Keow, did not stop.

Instead Keow led officers through Third Street, but fled the car after hitting a light pole, according to the CHP. Keow then ran inside Forever 21, a clothing store at the Santa Rosa Plaza, with CHP officers following closely. In an attempt to fight off the officers, Keow allegedly picked up and threw a clothing rack, striking an officer in the chest.

After a brief struggle, he was finally apprehended and found to have a lengthy criminal history and suspended license. Keow has been charged of felony evasion, vehicle theft, possession of stolen property, false information to police (he initially gave a relative’s name to officers), battery on a police officer, resisting arrest, hit and run, violation of probation, and driving while suspended license.
