Rohnert Park Man Arrested in Connection With Tuesday Night Car Chase, Crash

A parole search in Santa Rosa Tuesday evening led to a chase, a car crash, and three arrests, police said.

Officers were preparing to conduct a parole search of a home in the 2500 block of Corby Avenue at about 5 p.m. when Michael Todd, 24, drove up to the residence.

Police reportedly recognized Todd as a parolee and saw other vehicles arrive, one of which was occupied by a man officers believed was also on parole, according to police.

Todd and the other suspect drove away from the home officers had planned to search, police said.

Officers attempted to stop Todd's vehicle on Corby Avenue and Todd allegedly drove over a curb and sped south through a red light at the intersection of Corby and Hearn avenues, police said.

Todd allegedly led officers on a high-speed chase on southbound  Corby and Moorland avenues and west onto Todd Road where he allegedly crashed into another vehicle. He then allegedly entered the driveway of the Rincon Valley Fire Department where he crashed into the corner of the fire station, according to police.

Todd allegedly left the car and ran into a driveway in the 200 block of Todd Street where officers detained him, police said.

Officers allegedly discovered illegal drugs and drug paraphernalia on Todd and reportedly found a rifle wrapped in clothing in the back seat of his vehicle, according to police.

Todd was booked into Sonoma County Jail on suspicion of possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia, misdemeanor hit and run, felon in possession of a firearm, felony evading, and parole violation.

Officers also detained 44-year-old Richard Nosenzo of Rohnert Park in connection with the incident, police said.

Nosenzo was booked into Sonoma County Jail for an outstanding
felony warrant.

Officers completed a search of the home in the 2500 block of Corby Avenue and arrested 34-year-old Heather Slaybaugh. She was booked into Sonoma County Jail for parole violation.
