Rohnert Park Man Arrested For Vehicle Theft

Rohnert Park police are investigating whether the suspect can be tied to other vehicle thefts in the area.

The Rohnert Park Department of Public Safety arrested Jack Dancey, 53, of Rohnert Park yesterday for possession of stolen property at about 4:30 p.m., after residents in B Section saw him apparently breaking into vehicles in the area.

Residents called Rohnert Park police when they saw Dancey looking into several vehicles and attempting to gain access to one. Police arrived at Bridget Drive and Dancey fled on foot. When police investigated the apartment that Delancey frequents, they found that he was in possession of a stolen vehicle which contained "various burglary tools and other possible stolen items," Bates said.

Bates said police are investigating whether or not Delancey can be connected to other other vehicle burglaries in the area.
