UPDATED: RP Driver Implicated in GG Bridge Accident

An accident Monday on the Golden Gate Bridge was apparently caused by a Rohnert Park driver rear-ending another vehicle.

A 29-year-old man from Rohnert Park driving northbound on Hwy. 101 is being held responsible for an injury accident on the Golden Gate Bridge yesterday, according to the Highway Patrol.

At approximately 4 p.m. Monday, Rohnert Park resident Jesse Sims collided his Honda Accord into a Lexus driven by 74-year-old Joseph Lagomarsino of Sutter Creek. The collision caused the Lexus to crash into the car immediate in front of him, a VW Jetta driven by a 16-year-old from San Rafael. A fourth car was involved when the Jetta crashed forward into it.All the vehicles came to a rest in the lane, CHP said.

The San Rafael driver was transported to after his VW Jetta was sandwiched between two vehicles in the collision. The teenager complained of neck pain due to the accident, according to the California Highway Patrol.

A 61-year-old Sutter Creek woman riding in the Lexus suffered a wrist fracture and was transported to California Pacific Medical Center for a fractured wrist.

Northbound and southbound lanes were closed for approximately 30 minutes while paramedics tended to the injured parties.

The cause of the crash continues to be under investigation.
