Police Continue Search for Man Who Exposed Himself to 9-Year-Old Girl

Police officials said Wednesday that officers are canvassing schools, checking vehicle registrations and looking at the sex offender registry for possible leads.

Rohnert Park police are searching for a man who exposed himself yesterday to a 9-year-old girl at the intersection of Santa Alicia and Arlen drives. She was on her way to school.

The man, approximately 40, pulled up in a gray sedan about a block away from John Reed School.

“He pulled up right next to her so that when she looked at him, she saw the man was exposing himself,” said Sgt. Troy Moore. “She immediately took off running to school and reported the incident.”

This morning, patrol officers were sent out to patrol Rohnert Park schools in search of the any suspicious activity, and yesterday flyers notifying parents of the incident were sent home with the kids at John Reed, Moore said.

Moore said police are also looking at area vehicle registration records for a possible match to the gray sedan, and they’re looking at the Rohnert Park sex offender registry.

Rohnert Park, according to the registry, has 34 sex offenders. Records show one person lives in the area.

Citizens are urged to call Rohnert Park Department of Public Safety if they notice anything suspicious, at 707-584-2600.
