Mobile Home Catches Fire Tuesday Night

Rohnert Park firefighters responded to a fire at the Rancho Verde Mobile Home Park Tuesday night.

Firefighters battled a fire in a mobile home in Rohnert Park Tuesday night, according to Rohnert Park Department of Public Safety officials.

Firefighters received multiple reports of the blaze at 405 Corte Pintado in the Rancho Verde Mobile Home Park at 7:11 p.m. The residents, which include five children, were not home at the time of the fire, according to fire officials.

Crews from Rohnert Park Public Safety, Rincon Valley Fire and Rancho Adobe Fire responded to the structure fire. Upon arrival, firefighters saw a portion of the home fully involved in flames.

Firefighters reported flames coming out of the mobile home's windows and roof, fire officials said. Firefighters were able to contain the fire from spreading to the rest of the home and the surrounding mobile homes.

The portions of the home not fully involved in flames sustained smoke and heat damage, according to firefighters. The fire crews were able to prevent the residents from losing all their belongings in the fire.

The Red Cross arrived at the residence to provide emergency housing assistance to the displaced family.

The fire is estimated to have caused about $70,000 in damage to the home and contents, according to fire officials. The cause of the fire remains under investigation, according to Rohnert Park Department of Public Safety officials.
