Hoodie Bandit Captured

A man wanted in connection with a string of Sonoma County bank robberies was arrested Tuesday in Santa Rosa.

Sebastian Miranda, 28, was taken into custody in front of the Sonoma County Courthouse after a search that spanned several months and earned him the moniker of "The Hoodie Bandit" for a gray hoodie Miranda always wore during his heists.

The FBI says Miranda is responsible for three bank robberies throughout the county, including a Valentine's Day robbery of US Bank in Rohnert Park.

On Tuesday, detectives saw Miranda driving near his home off Laughlin Road and followed him until they received assistance from Santa Rosa Police Department patrol units to make the arrest.

Miranda was booked into the Sonoma County Jail on charges of robbery in all three cases.  He was also charged with a gang enhancement for being part of the Norteno gang and for possession of methamphetamine.

Anyone with information regarding these cases can call the Santa Rosa Police Department Violent Crimes Investigation Team at (707) 543-3590.
