DUI Checkpoints Scheduled for Friday Night in Petaluma

Two DUI and driver's license checkpoints will be conducted Friday night somewhere in Petaluma.

Petaluma authorities will be looking to get unlicensed and impaired drivers off the roads Friday night.

The Petaluma Police Department says it will conducts two DUI and driver's license checkpoints at undisclosed locations in the city.

"These operations are being conducted to raise the awareness of the dangers of impaired driving by educating motorists, arresting impaired drivers and suspended/unlicensed drivers," police said in a press release. "Funding for these operations has been provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration."
