DUI Arrest After Man Crashes Vehicle Near Rohnert Park

Driver was westbound on Wilfred Avenue when he failed to slow or stop at a red light at an intersection and struck a Chevrolet Silverado traveling south on Stony Point Road.

A Vallejo man was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol following a collision in Sonoma County on Thursday night, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Ignacio Cuevas Ceballos, 32, was driving his 2007 Honda Accord west on Wilfred Avenue near Rohnert Park at about 9:35 p.m., CHP officials said.

Ceballos failed to slow or stop at a red light at an intersection and struck a Chevrolet Silverado traveling south on Stony Point Road, according to the CHP.

The Chevy spun counterclockwise, knocking down a traffic light and a junction box, causing the traffic signal lights to be blacked out, according to the CHP. The occupants of the vehicles were not injured during the collision, CHP officials said.

Ceballos was arrested on suspicion of DUI and was booked into Sonoma County Jail.
