CHP: Weekend DUI Arrests Near Rohnert Park

Cotati Grade, Railroad Ave. sites of local DUI enforcement; Sebastopol has similar arrest

This past weekend the California Highway Patrol made several stops of erratic or dangerous drivers on Sonoma County highways, two of them on nearby US 101. In all three incidents the drivers had records of previous DUI convictions.

On Saturday, at approximately 12:35 a.m, Matthew Masciorini was on routine patrol on northbound 101 near Railroad Ave, when he observed a Honda Civic in the lane ahead of him. The officer noted that the Honda was weaving, and unable to maintain its lane.

The officer made an enforcement stop, and contacted the driver, identified as Kenneth Ly, 31, of Santa Rosa. The officer observed signs of intoxication, and began a DUI evaluation.

A records check revealed that Ly’s license was suspended, he has two prior convictions for DUI, and is currently on probation. Ly was arrested and booked on charges of DUI, driving while suspended, and violation of probation.

On Sunday, at approximately 8:40 p.m, CHP Officer James Davidson was on routine patrol on the Cotati Grade, when he observed a BMW speeding at 70 mph in the construction zone. The officer made an enforcement stop on the vehicle, and contacted the driver, identified as Stacie Rosemeyer, 30, of Rohnert Park.

The officer detected the odor of alcohol, and asked Rosemeyer if she had been drinking, which she denied. The officer began a DUI evaluation, and determined the Rosemeyer was impaired.

A records check revealed that Rosemeyer is on probation for a prior DUI conviction. She was booked on charges of DUI and violation of probation.

In a third DUI incident this weekend, on Sunday at approximately 1:50 p.m, CHP Officer Eric Clary received a call of a possible hit and run collision on Green Valley Rd. in the Sebastopol area. The officer stood by near Ross Rd, until he observed a Chrysler Van that matched the description and license of the suspect vehicle.

The officer initiated a stop, and contacted the driver, who was identified as Michael Andre Schiettekat, 53, of Santa Rosa. Schiettekat informed the officer that his license was suspended. The officer noted signs of intoxication, and began a DUI evaluation.

The officer determined that Schiettekat was more than twice the legal limit. A records check revealed that Schiettekat’s license was suspended for DUI, he has five suspensions for DUI going back to the early 1990’s, and two convictions for driving while suspended.

Schiettekat was arrested and booked on charges of DUI and driving while suspended.
