Raves: What Do You Love About Rohnert Park?

What's on your mind?

A couple days ago, . You responded, saying the bus system here is maddening and police need to step up patroling the city's intersections for safety.

This week, we're turning to a more positive note, and wondering — what makes you happy and proud to live this community? Give us your raves!

For example, I love, love, love our library. Even though the library has reduced its hours, which is inconvenient, the library staff are friendly, knowledgeable and helpful, especially the children's section reference librarians. Roses to you. I also can't get enough of the parks here — perfect for an after-dinner stroll with the pups.

When was the last time you took a moment to praise someone for a good deed, or yelled out to tell everyone how impressed you are with someone?

Come on and give a shout-out to the person or group in our community you feel deserves the praise. Maybe that’s someone at the grocery store who found your wallet and turned it in. Maybe it’s your own child who received all A’s on her report card.

Tell us, tell the entire community, who did something special and should receive this praise. .

I love Rohnert Park ! My family and I have lived here since 1961. And it is a wonderful place to raise a family. I to love the library, the Farmers market in the summers. The way the city is arranged with the Cul-de - Sac's. You never or at least for me need to go out of town to shop they have every thing here , Nice stores, wonderful choices of restaurants, alot of parks and hiking trails. And its a clean city ! I love that. Plenty of schools for the kids and of course Sonoma State so close by. I have alot of memories of Rohnert Park and I am very glad I have been a part of this wonderful town :-)

Great 2+mile walk through Honeybee Park around Golis Park and back to Honeybee Park. Parks are bustling with activity: tennis, baseball, family parties, walkers, runners, dog lovers (and of course their pooches), swimming, swim meets, toddlers on play equipment, lawn mowing, cleaner uppers and sitters soaking up the sun or rain. Wouldn't want to live anywhere else! Linda M Long

Thanks for your comments, readers. I gotta say, I absolutely love the creek paths! Nothing better than a walk in the afternoon with my dogs around Copeland Creek.
The best thing about Rohnert Park is that it's part of the Laguna de Santa Rosa and the frogs are still singing on Copeland Creek.
