Former Police Chief's Family Thanks the Community

Bob Dennett, who spearheaded the city's public safety concept, was beloved by the community.

Sheryl Dennett, the daughter of Rohnert Park's first police chief , said she was compelled to write a "thank you" to the community following his memorial services at the Community Center.

"There was such an outpouring of cards and letters and people," Dennett said. "Everbody was amazing — the community, the police department," she added. "It was such a beautiful way to honor my father."

The Dennett family wishes to thank all of our friends, family and the community for assisting with and attending Robert E. Dennett's memorial services.

Our family greatly appreciated the generosity and support we received during this difficult time. The flowers, food, donations in Bob’s honor, letters and kind words touched our hearts deeply and we are sincerely grateful to you all. We are so gracious for the memories of Bob shared with us in cards and emails. Bob was a very special man who touched the lives of many. We are honored to share the love of this man with you all. Bob lived a long, happy and extraordinary life, and will be sadly missed, but not forgotten. Your thoughtfulness means the world to us.

Warm regards,

The Dennett Family
