Drones Fly, Children Die

The title for this article was obtained from protest signs in New York against U.S. drone strikes in the Middle East.

While real news is shrouded in bubble gum headlines, the U.S. continues bombing and killing women and children across the eastern hemisphere. U.S. drone strikes have been happening since at least the 90s. In the 90s drones where called 'smart bombs.'

From 2004 to present day more than 880 Middle Eastern innocents have been blown up and killed by U.S. drones according to Daya Gamage's article "U.S. Drone Strikes Kill Children," published last year. (http://www.asiantribune.com/node/62242) Gamage's article also states that in April, a U.S. drone strike in eastern Afghanistan killed 18 people, ten of which were children.

The U.S. officials who defend drone strikes claim that drones only target and kill insurgents. If you believe this, I own a well known bridge in San Francisco that takes in massive amounts of cash daily via tolls, and I'll sell it cheap out of the kindness of my heart. Anyone who believes a missile strikes only kills military foes is simple blinded in the might makes theory of America and other wealthy countries.

On Dec. 12 a Yemen wedding party was stuck by U.S. drones. The bride survived, but 14 civilians were killed and 22 others injured. (http://www.cnn.com/2014/01/14/opinion/yemen-drone-strikes-reprieve/index.html)

Imagine if an American wedding party was struck by a North Korean or an Afghanistan missile. (To the best of my knowledge, the U.S. is the only country in the world still bombing people.)

The Bureau for Investigative Journalism exposed the death of 94 Middle East children killed by U.S. drones between 2006-2009. The BIJ also claims that more than a 160 Middle East children have been killed by U.S. drones since 2004. If the U.S. drone program is not evil, then I'm clueless as to what evil is.

It's been reported that in October, 2006, a single U.S. drone strike killed 80 children at a religious school. "Leaked Pakistani Report Confirms High Civilian Death Toll in CIA Drone Strikes," the article written by Chris Woods in July also claims reports of civilian deaths also disappeared entirely for most of 2009, after President Obama took office and I believe it. (http://www.thebureauinvestigates.com/2013/07/22/exclusive-leaked-pakistani-report-confirms-high-civilian-death-toll-in-cia-drone-strikes/) Woods article brings up even more disturbing murders the U.S. government is responsible for. His article claims the CIA is responsible for the deaths of more than 1400 civilians in North and South Waziristan between 2007 and 2012.

U.S. government officials don't deny they have killed women and children, they just nonchalantly claim only 50-60 civilians have been murdered by them according to Woods article. How nice, they have only killed 50 or 60 innocent people by mistake, 'they' claim. When George Carlin said he believes nothing the government says, he was making perfect sense to me the more I research real news.

The numbers of women and children murdered by U.S. drone strikes may vary from the above information I have gathered, but the fact remains, U.S. drone strikes are real, and they have killed women and children which our government does not deny, they just deny the numbers of women and children they have viciously murdered in the Middle East with our tax dollars.
