Welcome Valentine's Day

Valentine’s Day is the one-day out of the year to show your love and affection for one and other.

However, you might be drawing a blank for just how to create a fun, quick and memorable surprise for your loved one; especially if memory retention is a concern.

 Here are some suggestions:

 1. Give a bright bouquet of flowers that can be placed near his or her favorite spot.

 2. Don’t forget about rhythm. Play a few songs that were played at a special happy occasion or just a few favorites from “their generation”. Music can really brighten the spirit.

 3. Read aloud an old love letter from a loved one or a special memento that means something to both of you.

4. Chocolate really does make everything sweeter. Splurge and grab a quick treat for both of you.

5. Make it yourself. Your loved one would love a homemade valentine’s card.

6. Frame an old photo. Maybe an anniversary, wedding, special event and include a note of the date the picture was taken so it can be a constant remembrance.

7. If there was a tradition you shared with your loved one, find ways to adapt it.

Offers and reminders of love can brighten anyone’s day. As Maya Angelou once said, “If you have only one smile in you give it to the people you love.”
