Jamaican Music Legends The Melodians Celebrate Golden Jubilee Live at Redwood Cafe

Jamaican Music Legends The Melodians, celebrate their 50th Golden Jubilee with an exciting concert that is not to be missed! 


Best known for their hit "Rivers of Babylon" which was featured in the classic film soundtrack The Harder They Come, the song and their music have been covered by the likes of UB40, Luciano, Linda Ronstadt, Sublime, Boney M, The Skatalites and many others. 


The Melodians have had countless international hits as one of the leading vocal groups in Jamaican Rocksteady, which laid the foundation for what would become Reggae music.   The Melodians were formed in 1963 in the Greenwich Town area of Kingston, Jamaica by Tony Brevett, Trevor McNaughton & Brent Dowe and quickly established themselves as one of the most influential vocal groups in Jamaican music.

The group has carried on strong after Dowe’s death in 2005, continuing to record and tour internationally.  The group will sing many of their classic tunes, and, have a new album, Lyrics To Riddim, soon to be released.

Backed by the amazing Yellow Wall Dub Squad, the evening promises to be an unforgettable experience for the ages.  The excellent Sonoma County modern Rocksteady/Reggae group Dan Martin & The Noma Rocksteady Band will kick off the evening. 


 Doors open at 8:30PM.  Show starts at 9PM. This is an All Ages event.
