You Tell Us: Who's Got the Best Burrito in Town?

This week, we're asking readers to vote for the best Mexican food in Rohnert Park.

Plump burritos, zesty salsa, crispy tacos ... I bet you love Mexican food just like the rest of us. Are you even allowed to live in California and not like it?

Let's check your loyalty. Which place is the best in Rohnert Park, top to bottom? We'd like your advice, so let us know who stands out. Patch is continuing our "Reader's Choice" contest, and we want you to tell us where to get the tastiest Mexican food here!

Poll votes, stars and reviews, and comments below this piece all will factor in to our selection, to be announced Friday. Click "Keep me posted" below for an email update.

Click on the links below to rate a business on its Patch Places listing. You can even leave a review.

Scroll down to take the poll.

If there's another spot we missed, start a write-in campaign in the comments section below. In the event of a tie, we will break it based on the comments, so please explain your choice.

The poll opens Monday morning and closes Friday. Come back later that day for the results.

(Because our poll is not scientific, it is not the sole consideration in choosing a winner. The winner will be determined by the Patch editor, based on poll results, comments and reviews on Patch Places. Please vote only once per survey.)

I voted for Tonayan, but my kids love Taqueira Sol Azteca. Being in their early 20's and on a budget, they like the prices there. I have become big fan of Tonayan, and hope that they have a long a properous business career in Rohnert Park. We need more family owned restuarants!

You forgot about Mi Pueblito. They are the best to go to for lunch or dinner. They are also very dog friendly. My dogs are welcome on their patio.

Mi Pueblo has it hands down. When I moved here from Novato i was happy that I didn't leave my favorite family restaurant behind.

You gotta add Dos Amigos, yummy burritos and at a great price. Migel and Esperaza(probably spelled her name wrong) are the owners and make dining there a pleasure

The poll results with Tonayan on top are perplexing to me, because the food there is Taco Bell / American style. Obviously, that's what people like but that doesn't make it good and it doesn't make it the best by any objective standard judging Mexican food. If you've ever seen "Mexico: One Plate at a Time" on PBS with Chicago chef Rick Bayless, you'll get an idea of what authentic Mexican food is about.

Everyone has their own taste buds. It is ALL a matter of opinion. Sometimes I like product better at one place because everything else comes together: Food, plus customer service, plus atmosphere, plus cleanliess. I really disagree that the food at Tonoyan is "Taco Bell". That seems very disrespectful and insulting to Tonayan's owners, who probably know what they are doing. PBS makes food more complicated than it needs to be. Real family food, no matter the ethnic background, is simple, fresh and innovative, using ingredients on hand that are affordable. Not going to every darn ethnic boutique store in Manhattan to pull together a snooty ethnic dish.
