You Decide: Best Tax Preparer?

"Nothing is certain except death and taxes."

The famous phrase — some say it was coined by Ben Franklin, some credit the Yale Book of Quotations, others say Mark Twain. Whichever it was, the phrase rings true, especially this time of year.

The deadline to file tax and pay taxes this year has been extended till Tuesday, April 17 — but it's not because someone at the IRS was in a good mood.

April 15 falls on a Sunday this year, and April 16 is Emancipation Day — a quasi-federal holiday that's observed in the District Columbia — giving all taxpayers an two extra days to file this year.

But if you haven't even started, you've still only got 15 days until the deadline.
