What Happened To The Fireworks In Rohnert Park?

The Rohnert Park fireworks show was cut short last night due to technical difficulties. Ticket holders will receive a partial refund.

If you were celebrating the Fourth of July in Rohnert Park last night, you were probably wondering what happened to the fireworks show.

The Fourth of July celebration in Rohnert Park was brought to you by the newly opened Green Music Center as a way to kick off the center’s first “Summer Concert Series,” however, the night did not go as planned.

According to Jessica Anderson, associate director of communications at Green Music Center, the fireworks show was stopped short due to technical difficulties.

“We are working with the fireworks company to figure out exactly what went wrong, but have yet to determine the cause,” said Anderson in an official statement. “An internal review is ongoing, but answers may take some time.”

The Green Music Center contracted with Pyro Spectaculars by Souza, a pyrotechnics company based in California, to handle the fireworks portion of last night’s festivities. Pyro Spectaculars was reached for comment but they have yet to make an official statement.

The fireworks show was intended to last for 20 minutes but only 10 to 12 fireworks were able to go off without a problem.

Crew members spent over 30 minutes to try and solve the dilemma but they were unsuccessful in fixing the issue.

Although several members of the community were inconvenienced, the Green Music Center is doing everything that they can to rectify the situation, starting by issuing partial refunds to ticket buyers.

This will result in a refund of approximately 40% of the individual ticket price.

“While we can’t go back and fix what happened last night, we would like to extend a gesture of goodwill for the disappointing end to what was an otherwise wonderful day,” said Anderson.

“Instead of paying the fireworks vendor for a show that did not happen, we would like to give that money back to you, the ticket holder.”

The Green Music Center states that refunds will be processed in the next few weeks.
