Top Five Local Eateries For Valentine's Day

1. Hana Japanese Restaurant off of Golf Course Drive and Commerce Boulevard in Rohnert Park tops our list for best night out spots in Rohnert Park to celebrate Valentine's Day. Hana offers traditional Japanese fare like tempura and sushi, but the miso glazed black cod out of this world. The spicy tuna with a glass of Nigori sake (unfiltered) is a great combination; we also love the Navarro Zin (Mendocino Coast) paired with the Angus. Reservations are recommended. 2. Tonayan Mexican Restaurant in Raley's Town Centre added a full bar about two months ago, and we love the mole they serve. Tonayan is a truly locally-owned Mexican restaurant, and we think it's a great bet for a romantic night out. Call 707-588-0893 to check if reservations are necessary.

3. OK so we know it's not a restaurant, but Sift Cupcakes in Cotati is a great local gem to find the perfect treat on Valentine's Day — especially if you have to work. The recent winner of Cupcake Wars offers up traditional favorites, but also has fun things like frosting shots. We love the Pink Champagne, made with raspberries and Champagne, and the Car Bomb, made with chocolate, Irish Cream and Guiness beer. Find Sift at 7582 Commerce. They're open till 6 p.m. Monday, so stop by on the way home from work!

4. Mai Vietnamese Cuisine in Cotati also topped our list. Vegetarian dishes and traditional favorites available. 5. located within the Doubletree Plaza in Rohnert Park is also a great local spot for a romantic dinner. They're open till 10 p.m. The local wines by the glass are the perfect thing for the end of a long work day and the beginning of a great Valentine's Day.
