The Weekend Planner for July 13

Cotati Kids Day Parade, Friday Night Market, and a whole lot more!

It can be hard to keep track of local events. But we here at the Patch try and keep tabs on things so you can have a one-stop spot to find ideas for the best things to see and do. Check out what is happening around town and around the county.

The Rohnert Park Farmer's Market kicks off at 5 p.m. and run until 8 p.m. With plenty of food vendors, beer, wine, and stuff for the kids it is a great time for all. The weather should be warm but the kids can cool down in the sprinkler area (adults too!).  This week's music will be by Electric Avenue featuring music from the 1960's to now!

New Movies this weekend at the Rohnert Park 16 are: Ice Age 3 - Continental Drift - This PG movie should be great for kids and families to enjoy with lots of humor and cute fun. That is the only new release for this weekend as many movies are staying out of the way in anticipation of the 3rd installment of the Batman Dark Knight series that opens next Thursday.

Saturday

The 20th Annual Cotati Kids day Parade & Festival will be taking up the Coati downtown all morning. With this year's theme of "Under the Sea," expect the mermaids to be out in full force. The parade starts at 10 p.m. at City Hall and will go through the downtown before ending in front of La Plaza Park. After the parade the party will continue in the park until 3 p.m. with fun, music, games, and all sorts of stuff for kids and families.

The Kitchen Kut-Ups will have their last show of the summer completing their run of the "Best of the Kut-Ups 40th Year Celebration". Call the box office and see if there are any tickets left for the 1 p.m. show!

The Lion in Winter will be presented by Main Stage West and the New Spreckels Theatre Company this weekend. This powerful play has a well paced plot with great dialogue and should keep you on the edge of your seat. It plays on Saturday at 8:00 p.m. and Sunday at 2:00 p.m.

If you like stand-up comedy then you can hit The Rocks in Petaluma for some laughs. Del Van Dyke and Spencer James will get this going and they even have free food if you get there early at 6:30 p.m.

Sunday

The Reverend Horton Heat will be playing at the Mystic Theatre in Petaluma starting at 8:00 p.m. The Rev always brings a great show and it is a nice way to end the weekend.
