It can be hard to keep track of local events. But we here at the Patch try and keep tabs on things so you can have a one-stop spot to find ideas for the best things to see and do. Along with our local event calendar items we also found the following things happening:

The Rohnert Park Farmer's Market kicks off at 5pm and run until 8pm. With plenty of food vendors, beer, wine, and stuff for the kids it is a great time for all. The weather should be great and music will be provided by the country sounds of McKenna Faith. Plus we have a great certified farmers market with fresh produce and other vendor items!
New Movies this weekend at the Rohnert Park 16 are: Magic Mike - A dramedy about the life of male strippers, Ted - A comedy about a man who made a wish for his teddy bear to come alive when he was a kid and the bear is still around, People Like Us - A drama about a salesman who discovers he has a sister he never knew, and Madea's Witness Protection - Another Tyler Perry offering featuring his well liked Madea character.

The Kate Wolf Music Festival is taking place all weekend up in Laytonville. This alternative style music event is held at the Black Oak Ranch and features a variety of musical acts including k.d. lang, Lucinda Williams, and Leftover Salmon.
Live Music includes Joe & Vicki Price playing alternative blues at the Tradewinds, the Feral Moon Band hits the stage at 9:30pm at Spancky's Bar, and Brian Francis at 5:30pm at the Redwood Cafe.
Saturday
The Aqus Foundry Festival will be running from 11am to 7pm in Petaluma (check out the website here) and promises to be a good time with music, food, wine, and family fun. This is a benefit for COTS.
Roller derby is happening at Cal Skate starting at 7pm. The Resurrection Roller Girls will face off with the Santa Cruz derby Girls in some flat track all female roller derby. The main bout starts at 8:30pm.
Monte Rio will be having their annual 4th of July celebration. Over the River is an afternoon of fun on the river to go with fireworks and the Parade of Lites.
Levi Lloyd and the 501 Band will be rocking their style of blues/rock/soul at the Tradewinds in Cotati. That show should easily be playing late into the night.
Sunday
Pop over to Penngrove to enjoy the 37th Annual Penngrove 4th of July Parade starting at 11am downtown. After the parade there will be a BBQ, music, and games at the park.
Like Classic Cars? The B.R. Cohn Winery will be having a classic car show complete with food and wine from 12 to 5 at their winery in Glen Allen.
Guerneville will have a huge 4th of July celebration all day in the downtown area. There will be a craft fair, block party, and BBQ all rolled into one before fireworks by the river at dusk.
