Sunny Weather Expected to Continue Today

Temperatures around Santa Rosa yesterday hit a record high.

Temperatures in Sonoma County reached a record-breaking 86-degrees yesterday, according to National Weather Service forecaster Bob Benjamin.

A ridge of high pressure and an offshore flow of air are caused the atmosphere above the region to heat up — a combination not unusual for spring.

But, temperatures were out of the ordinary for March 31, Benjamin said.

Sunny skies are expected across the Bay Area this morning, becoming partly cloudy in the afternoon. Highs in the 60s to upper 70s are also expected.

It is forecast to be partly cloudy this evening, becoming mostly cloudy and breezy, with a slight chance of rain tonight. Lows are expected to be in the upper 40s to mid 50s.

Saturday is expected to be mostly cloudy and breezy, with a slight chance of showers. Highs in the 50s to mid 60's are expected, with west winds of 10 to 20 mph increasing to 20 to 30 mph in the afternoon.
