The community is invited to attend the commemoration of the 10th Anniversary of 9/11, and the grand opening and dedication of the outdoor portion of this important and historic exhibit in Santa Rosa. The Pacific Coast Air Museum has acquired the very first fighter aircraft to arrive over New York City on September 11, 2001, an Air Force F-15A “Eagle” aircraft. This aircraft and its pilot escorted over 80 aircraft out of New York air space, developed the air defense plan for New York on the fly that day, and provided comfort for the responders at the World Trade Center and for the citizens of New York.

The Pacific Coast Air Museum is building an exhibit surrounding our 9/11 “First Responder” F-15A “Eagle” aircraft. The exhibit will honor those who responded, honor those who perished; as well as display the untold story of heroism in the air by U.S. Air Force pilots and on the ground that day by Air Force and FAA controllers.

If you go: This commemoration begins at 2 p.m. at Pacific Coast Air Museum, 2230 Becker Blvd. in Santa Rosa.
