Rohnert Park Plans To Invest Millions Into New Sewer Line

The Rohnert Park City Council decided on Tuesday to invest millions of dollars in a trunk sewer line.

Rohnert Park is investing $13 million of its entire fund for public facilities to construct a trunk sewer line on the city’s east side. The agreement to bankroll the new sewer line suggests that the city will have no resources to make future improvements to public infrastructure after the upcoming fiscal year.

According to a story in the Press Democrat, the majority of the funds consists of a one-time payment of $12.8 million from the Federated Indians of Graton Rancheria. City officials in Rohnert Park are hopeful that the $13 million sewer line project will be the catalyst for housing and commercial growth in the area.
