Rohnert Park Native and Former Miss Sonoma County Woman Among 37 Displaced in San Francisco Fire

A fire that erupted in a Valencia Street apartment fire around 10 a.m. Sunday has left several dozen people homeless, according to several news reports.

Sara Choi, who grew up in Rohnert Park and was named Miss Sonoma County in 2008, was one of several dozen Mission District residents displaced in a Sunday morning apartment fire, according to people who know her on Facebook.

"We just got word that a Miss Sonoma County 2008, and the current Miss Golden Gate, Sara Choi, was seriously hurt in a fire at her San Francisco apartment building early Sunday morning," according to one post. "She was badly burned on her legs and feet and suffered a cut on her hand. While her injuries aren't life threatening, she will be required to spend approximately a month in the hospital, during which time she will undergo surgery and a series of skin grafts."

"The fire was contained by noon," according to media reports. "The cause is under investigation."
