Rohnert Park Man Arrested for Shooting into Home

A Rohnert Park man has been arrested on charges of shooting into a home Monday evening, according to the Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office.

Officials say Christopher Gornowicz, 22, fired four shots at the Windsor home of his ex-girlfriend while people were inside. No one was injured, but the bullets hit a car parked outside. The victims were able to provide a description of the suspect vehicle, which was traced to Gornowicz,
He was arrested Monday evening.

Inside Gornowicz's car, deputies located two spent shell casings on the front passenger seat and driver’s floorboard. Deputies also located an assault type rifle at Gornowicz’s home during the arrest.  

He was booked in the Sonoma County Jail on charges of shooting into an inhabited dwelling, with bail set at $100,000.  

During the course of the investigation, two deputies responding to the shooting got into a car accident on Highway 101 near the Golf Course exit. Neither the driver and passenger of the other vehicle or the deputies were injured, but their patrol car sustained major damage.
