Raising the Roof for a Good Cause

Oliver’s Markets is releasing a new CD featuring tunes by Sonoma County musicians that will donate a portion of profits to local anti-hunger efforts.

Real Music, A Taste of Sonoma County Music, Vol. 3
will be available at a release party June 7 at the Sebastopol Community Center. The event features 20 acts, including musicians from current and past compilations such as country star Pete Stringfellow, bluesman Volker Strifler, and the Highway Poets.

All proceeds from the door, and $6 from each CD sold, benefit the Redwood Empire Food Bank that feeds an estimated 78,000 Sonoma County residents each month. All bar profits will be donated to the Mr. Music Foundation, a group offering classroom music, after school music instruction, and high quality music assemblies.

Admission is $10 plus a can of food for the food bank. Beer will be provided by Lagunitas Brewery and wine will be courtesy of Dry Creek Vineyard. http://www.oliversmarket.com/index.php/music for details. Advanced tickets are available starting May 31 at Oliver’s Markets, the Last Record Store, or via Brown Paper Tickets.

Oliver’s Markets is also accepting submissions for “Real Music: A Taste of Sonoma County Music, Vol. 4”. Submissions for the fourth compilation CD should be emailed to realmusic@oliversmarket.com and include a short biography, contact information, and an MP3 recording from a currently available CD. All types of music are welcome.

The June 7 release party will be held at the Sebastopol Community Center from 7–11pm.
