The National Weather Service issued an urban and small stream flood advisory for Sonoma County.

Based on satellite data, the Weather Service is predicting moderate to heavy rain holding steady within the County, and causing water ponding in highways, streets, underpasses, and low lying spots.

Small creeks and streams may flood suddenly, spilling out into nearby roads and low areas.

Residents should allow extra travel time, and should avoid roadways covered by water, as flood water is often deeper in reality than it appears by sight, according to the National Weather Service.

Though a flood advisory warns of flooding danger, any property damage and hazardous circumstances should be minimal.

The flood watch is slated to last until 3 p.m.
