Police arrested a 52-year-old Rohnert Park man who allegedly beat his live-in girlfriend with a bamboo cane so hard that she was unresponsive when police arrived.
Edward Rosario was arrested Saturday night in the 7400 block of Cristobal Way after receiving a call that a man was beating a woman in the parking lot of the Wine Country RV Park. When police arrived they found the victim passed out. Upon seeing officers, Rosario ran into the park and hid behind a trailer but was soon apprehended.
The suspect has been charged with domestic violence with a deadly weapon, making threats to police, domestic violence with corporal injury and violating probation.
Meanwhile, Rohnert Park police have not been able to track down the victim who fled the hospital on foot soon after being admitted.
