Last Chance for the Lion in Winter, Willie Nelson, Sheryl Crow, and more!

What is going on during the week of July 16 to July 22 in and around Rohnert Park?


1.  The Rohnert Park Library has their usual slew of great programs this week along with a big special event. You can Read to a Dog on Wednesday from 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. and again on Saturday from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. On Thursday at 11 a.m. Timothy James will provide a magic show as the Summer Reading Finale! Then on Friday there is Preschool Story time at 10:30 a.m.

2.  Willie Nelson is hitting the Uptown Theatre this Wednesday in Napa. Tickets are a bit pricey at $95 but the Uptown Theatre is a very intimate setting to see one of the all-time greats of country music. The Show starts at 7 p.m.

3. The Lion in Winter by James Goldman end its' run at the Spreckels Performing Arts Center this weekend. But as part of the last run they will have a special show on Thursday at 7:30 p.m. The Main Stage West and New Spreckels Theatre Company will present a classic play showing the history of Britain in 1183. Additional shows will be on Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m. and the finale at 2 p.m. on Sunday. Tickets are $25 for full and $20 for students and seniors; they are available at the box office.

4. The 3rd Annual Summer BBQ benefiting the Rohnert Park Senior Center is happening this Friday! There will be food, fun, raffles, and music. The event should be fun for the whole family and runs from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tickets are $5 each, available on a presale basis only by calling 585-6780.

5. Sheryl Crow will be live for one night only at the Wells Fargo Center for the Arts this Friday. This popular singer will bring her blend of rock and country style music for a single show at 8:00 p.m. Honeyhoney will open the show. Tickets are still available from the Wells Fargo Center.

6. Last Chance for the Rivertown Revival this Saturday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. in Petaluma. This arts-based thematic festival will feature musicians, an art boat flotilla, drag races, and more. With food and fun for kids and teens this is a great family event held at the Petaluma River Heritage Center.
