It took us a couple of days to catch up with Cutest Couple Contest winners Melissa Ames and Justin Busch, but we finally heard a little more about how they met.
The couple, together for nearly four years, met when Melissa was bartending at Quincy’s.
“He would always come in and order a 7-Up, but we didn’t talk,” recalls Melissa, now 29. “But then one day he came in and ordered a Coors Light. And I thought, ‘Oh, that’s different’ and we got to chatting.”
They kept talking and talking, and went on their first date two weeks later.
“And we’ve been together ever since,” says Melissa, who originally hails from Healdsburg and works at Food Maxx.

The couple have a three-year-old son, Conner, and are planning a wedding in October, to be held at the Bodega Yacht Club.
The key to their continued happiness?
“A lot of our friends envy our relationship because we are friends,” says Melissa. “We tell each other everything, we don’t like to go out without the other person. Our son also keeps things exciting and us on our toes.”
