Rohnert Park ranked on the lower end of the spectrum, with some stations offering gas at $3.87 per gallon for regular unleaded.

Average gas prices across the Bay Area dropped by double digits at the beginning of June compared to prices a month ago, according to the AAA, which monitors the rates. Bay Area motorists can expect to pay $4.02 per gallon on average, compared to $4.32 in mid-May, AAA said.

California has the sixth-highest gas prices in the country with only Alaska, Hawaii, Connecticut, Illinois and New York ranking above it, AAA said.
